Subjects Taught
First Grade

For my undergraduate degree, I attended Bethel University, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and The University of Tennessee at Martin.  I received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in Home Economics Education with an endorsement in Elementary Education, grades 1-8.  I then received a Master's Degree from the University of Memphis in Administration and Supervision.

I began my teaching career at West Carroll Primary School, teaching first grade.  I taught there for 3 years.  I then taught Home Economics at Lexington High School.  From there, I taught second, fifth, seventh grade language arts, and eighth grade pre-algebra at Beaver Elementary School in Henderson County.  I then moved to South Haven Elementary School in Henderson County, where I taught fifth grade.  After leaving Henderson county, I moved back to the West Carroll Special School District, where I taught 2nd grade for the remainder of the school year.  I then worked at our Central Office for 4 years.  Eleven years ago I completed my full circle and went back to the first grade classroom, where I hope to stay!

I grew up in Lavinia, Tennessee. I attended Atwood Elementary School, Westview Elementary School, West Carroll Middle School, and graduated in 1989 from West Carroll High School.  I am married, and have 4 children.
