I graduated from Lambuth University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

In 2012 I received a Speech and Language teacher endorsement from the University of Memphis.

I currently have 15 years experience.  I began teaching in the Crockett County School system.  Later I became the 6th grade Language Arts teacher at West Carroll Elementary School.  After receiving an endorsement at the University of Memphis, I became the Speech and Language teacher at the West Carroll Special School District where I now serve students in all three schools.

I am married to Chuck Avery.  We live in Milan Tennessee and have three grown children.  We attend the Main Street Church of Christ in Milan.  I enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with my family.
